Three to four days on the open tundra, out of our camp at the end of the lake. We get there by boat, and the hunt starts on the way.

Late summer and early fall. The musk ox is what we hunt. A musk ox taken in August carries no winter wool, which leaves a clean summer cape. If a caribou crosses our path, we can go after it too, and in August it is still in velvet.

Michael, our head guide, and Julie meet you in the arrival hall. You spend the night in town, and we’re happy to book the hotel for you.

We collect you in the morning and drive to the harbor. From there it’s water nearly all the way. The journey is part of the hunt: if conditions allow, a trophy animal can be taken on the way.

Camp is at the far end of the lake. We cook every meal, and the cabins are heated in the fall. We don’t sell drinks in camp, so pick up what you’d like in town on the way out.

Most days start and end with coffee in the lodge. In between we glass from the ridges, find a bull worth the walk, and stalk in on foot.

Fall add-on
Add a caribou to your fall hunt. If one crosses our path, we go after it together.
