A question

Ask us anything.

About the hunts, the camp, getting here or anything else. No hunt or dates needed. We answer by email, usually within a couple of days.

What people ask us

The questions we are asked most often, from how booking works to what waits at the end of the journey. If your answer isn’t here, just ask.

Ask us
How do I book, and what happens next?

Plan your trip above: pick a hunt, a year and your party. There is no obligation, and you pay nothing. We get back to you, usually within a couple of working days, and talk the hunt and the dates through with you. Then we send you an offer. When you say yes, we hold your place and you get your own page with us, where the agreement and everything we need before the trip are gathered in one place.

How do I get there?

You fly to Kangerlussuaq, north of the Arctic Circle, and we take it from there. Michael, our head guide, and Julie meet you in the arrival hall. In spring we head straight out to camp. In the fall you arrive the day before, and we collect you in the morning. We’re happy to book the hotel for you. King eider starts in Sisimiut, on the coast. The flights to Greenland you book yourself.

What is included?

On a musk ox hunt: your guides, the license for one musk ox, the trip between the airport and camp, your nights in camp with every meal, and your trophy prepared, packed and shipped to the EU or US border. On a king eider hunt: the hotel, breakfast, lunch on the hunting days, local transport and up to eight king eiders. Flights and gun rental come on top. We don’t sell drinks in camp, so pick up what you’d like in town before we leave. The full list is in the booking agreement, and we’re glad to go through it with you.

Do I need to bring my own rifle and clothing?

No. You can rent a rifle from us, and for the spring hunt, which is a winter hunt over the frozen lakes, you can also rent winter clothing. On the king eider hunt it is a shotgun. Tell us when you plan the trip, and we will have it ready. If you are not sure yet, that is a fine answer too.

What insurance do I need?

Travel insurance that covers medical help and evacuation. Camp is a long way from the nearest hospital, and getting there can take time, so it is the one thing we ask everyone to have in place. We also recommend cancellation cover, in case something comes up before the trip.

What happens to my trophy after the hunt?

We prepare and pack it in the field, and on a musk ox hunt we ship one trophy to the border of the EU or the US, with the export papers. That is part of the hunt. From there your own taxidermist or shipping agent takes over, and for the US we can give you contacts for both. After the hunt your guide adds the trophy to your page, where you choose the mount and tell us where it is going. King eiders and extra trophies are shipped the same way, as an add-on.

Can I bring a bow, or someone who doesn’t hunt?

Yes to both. We guide rifle and bow hunts alike. A partner or family is just as welcome: they travel and stay with us at a companion price, and simply won’t be hunting. Add them as companions when you plan the trip.
