We take what we need

We keep a strict hunting policy and stay in dialogue with the authorities about the herds. When the numbers say we should hold back, we hold back.

We take what we need, not everything we see. It is a simple sentence, and it is the one we come back to whenever a season asks something difficult of us.

A strict policy, without being fanatical

We keep a strict hunting policy without being fanatical about it. That means clear rules for which animals we hunt and when, and the judgement to know when a rule needs a second look.

Our guides read the herds every day. They see which bulls are mature, which groups are carrying young animals, and where the pressure has been. That knowledge shapes every stalk we plan.

Talking to the authorities

We stay in continuous dialogue with the authorities about the condition of the populations. When the numbers say we should hold back, we hold back, including when it costs us an animal.

We push the other way too. Where conditions can be improved, we say so, and we keep saying so. We would rather be part of the conversation than wait for the decision.

Our concern is not only that these animals are here this fall. It is that they are here for the next generation.

What it means for you as a guest

It means we will tell you straight what is out there. If the best trophy the area honestly holds this season is not the one you hoped for, you will hear it from us before you travel, not on the last day.

It also means that the hunt you come for will still be here when you want to come back, and for the Greenlanders who will be hunting this country long after us.
